PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

P

Hello my friends!   We're a little over half thru with the pitching schedule and I know you guys have your average where you want them, right? If not, you need to get your rear in gear and make a few more tournaments! I know the clubs would appreciate your support.  I've personally made over a dozen tournaments so far this year and I've been taking a few notes. After studying them, I think it's fair to say that we have this "have fun" thing down. Why?  We’ve started playing the game on the courts and not on paper. For the first time in a long time there were no new rules or amendments to argue over this year.  No re-write. We were going to put the re-write back on the ballot this year, but I, along with the rest of the officers have decided not to. The tournaments are much better without the politics! The winter meeting might be a little long-winded but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.  Speaking of fun, on July 3rd in Buffalo, the THPA held its first picnic! This was a last minute thing and I know that most of you already had other plans. The 3rd was the only open date and we decided to have it in Buffalo because of the shade. Those covered pits are nice! Many thanks to the Buffalo club for letting us use their facility. Also thanks goes to Deborah DuBose for putting it all together. And by the way, if you get in a dunking booth and Ron Murphy is up to throw, your gonna get wet. If he was as accurate with a horseshoe as he is with a softball, he would be in class A! I think everyone that was there had a great time. We'll do it bigger and better next year!  Everyone stay safe and have fun. See ya at the pits!
